The Clarke County Animal Shelter is a place that is busy. As January, 206 dogs have been through the shelter, manager Donna Gates told county commissioners Monday. Dogs are by far the clients for the shelter however, the shield also homes cats. There are 46 puppies there and strategies are to ship grown dogs and 23 puppies out to rescue operations.
