Oklahoma Creature rescue receives three emaciated Puppies in one week

OKLAHOMA CITY – Under the hugs and tail wagging is really a tale of animal abuse for a boxer.

“She is obviously very emaciated and requires a lot of grocery stores and, only this season, I know she had been living outside,” said Kacee Crawford, a volunteer with The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma.

The boxer was removed from her owner after she had been discovered to be 20 pounds high with heart disease.

“They were planning to euthanize her, and also someone contacted us and then we could get her and, finally, get her to the path to healing,” Crawford said.

The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma saves about 200 dogs per Year.

“Abused, obviously mistreated, emaciated, more often than not, that’s the way they come to us,” she said.

This week has been especially difficult for your nonprofit.

Three severely malnourished dogs were brought in – two had been the consequence of neglect, while another was discovered on the road.

“I really can’t think there are people that just treat animals like this, treat puppies like this, and it makes me ill,” she said.

For these dog fans, it never gets easier to view.

“It simply blows my mind that people would treat an animal, especially a precious sweet fighter, such as that, because they desire nothing but affection and love,” Crawford said.

It’s unclear if any charges will be filed in some of the cases.
